Let me introduce you to one of Sam Winchesters biggest fears. Monsters. It’s the reason he wanted to leave hunting in the first place. To leave behind the door his father had opened that led to creatures lurking in the night, ghosts, shape shifters, demons. These things terrified him beyond anything. And to hear Dean say he was a monster was probably the last straw for him. I mean look at his face in the bottom gif. That nodding of approval because he thinks so low of himself now, those teary eyes and the turn of his head because he can’t face Dean, knowing he’s become the one thing he feared all his life… the one thing his family hunted all his life. The brother he’s always looked up to, tried to grow up like, believes his a monster.
